Kent Enterprise Trust (KET) was founded in 1982 with the goal of enabling people to work. CADET set up training and employment schemes to: -
- Provide socially meaningful work
- Reduce the high unemployment of the time
- Provide opportunities to progress into employment with the necessary skills to perform and achieve
By providing these, KET aimed to contribute to the long term economic recovery of the district.

These objectives remain the same, and CADET has recently been expanded and re-named Kent Enterprise Trust (KET).
KET trustees
Our small Board of Trustees all take an active interest in the work of the Trust and between them offer expertise from the private, public and voluntary sectors. The focus remains on:
- Education
- Training
- Employment

Other projects
KET is also developing projects that benefit people who are disadvantaged in other ways.
We have projects that:
- Assist young persons in education or training who need financial assistance
- Offer work placement positions, volunteer opportunities and vocational qualifications to people with mental illness, physical or learning disability, alcohol or drug abuse.
