Volunteer Saturdays!
Volunteering at Hambrook Marshes is a great way to enjoy the countryside right in the heart ofCanterbury. On the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month Graham will be leading tasks throughout the year, carrying out seasonal work to improve the site for biodiversity and community use.
July 17th - Cattle Preparation and willow bed restoration
August 7th and 21st - Cutting steps into the railway mound or path work
11am - 2pm - Meet at the railway embankment, st. Dunstan's street in Canterbury, turn into Linden Grove and then into Toddlers Cove carkpark and follow the signs along the river.
Or from Thanington turn into Tonford Lane then at the bottom go over the bridgreand turn right. After you are at Hambrook Marshes follow the signs along the river.
Discover Bigbury: An Iron Age Hillfort on your Doorstep
This is at a site extremely close to Hambrook so we have decided to advertise this on our site too. You can discover the archaeology of Bigbury Iron Age Hillfort with tours and talks about this ancient site. It is said to be where Ceasar's first battle in Britian took place!

Friends of Hambrook Marshes Meetings 2010
The Friends group meets once every 2 months in a hall local to Hambrook Marshes. We have visiting speakers and are responsible for some small fund raising. It's only £1 to join and for this you receive 4 newsletters per year and the chance to join in with some free training sessions in ecological surveying, join "walk and Talk" events, twice per month volunteer Saturdays and other delights through the year.
The next meeting is on the 27th of July
