Trainees work alongside our professional gardeners in the KET gardening service, Appleseed. This is a unique opportunity because experience is gained while working on real jobs where the customers are paying. Trainees are registered with Hadlow College and assessed by KET's gardeners in their level 1 or 2 vocational qualification.
KET is always setting up new projects and is currently planning schemes where young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET) can gain experience and a level 1 qualification in horticulture. These will be in Thanet and the Canterbury/Faversham area.
Participation in all projects offer opportunities to develops life skills - teamwork, literacy, numeracy, communication, outdoor exercise, involvement in your local area and more. These are also imbedded in the level 1 qualification we offer.
